A real account-based launch of our own product, Inclamo — a voice layer for Shopify. The method we sell, we first tested on ourselves. Here is how it went, from the founder:
We found a base of Shopify Stores in open sources — about 5k merchants. We dropped stores younger than a year and older than 3 years, and selected the US. About 1,700 merchants remained. We parsed every site on the list and found all the executives of these companies on LinkedIn — about 1,000 profiles. We built an ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) for each profile and linked it to its merchant. We studied each online store and prepared a custom message for every one. We started warming up (3 likes and a comment under a post) and sent connection requests. Those who accepted got an immediate message. We had to stop almost immediately — there were already enough takers for the test offer.
Funnel: ~5,000 merchants from open sources → filter (store age 1–3 years + US geo) → ~1,700 → site parsing and finding executives on LinkedIn → ~1,000 profiles with ICP, linked to their merchant.
